AstroCan X Special

The AstroCan X Special is a “Make a Kit”. You start from a complete, working base – the droid drives, turns its dome and moves its panels – and then add exactly the boards your droid needs, nothing you don’t.

The base (included)

• AstroCan X Core with SD card – the main board. Radio gateway and master controller on one PCB, with the radio module, audio DAC, CAN transceiver, OLED, SD slot and two receiver inputs. Eight motor systems supported out of one firmware.
• AstroCan X AutoDome – positional dome rotation. The dome knows its angle, moves smoothly to a requested position and can hold a point in space, so it turns toward a visitor on cue instead of just spinning.
• AstroCan X Mini Remote – the handheld remote on its own long-range 2.4 GHz link. Two joysticks, over 20 buttons with four actions each, and an OLED with live droid status. Available left-hand or right-hand, with two sticks or a single stick.
• AstroCan X CAN Hub (8 Ports) – the passive distribution board for the CAN bus and 5V power. Eight ports leave room to keep adding boards without a second hub.
• AstroCan X ServoBoard Single (16 Servos) – drives up to 16 servos for panels, holo projectors and utility arms. Each channel is calibrated once in the browser interface and stored on the board.
• Slipringkit (with 12 wires slipring) – carries power and signal between body and dome through the rotation.

How it grows

From here every add-on board plugs into the hub and announces itself – type, firmware and what it can do – and its controls appear in the browser interface on their own. No recompiling, no protocol setup. The eight-port hub rather than the six is deliberate: six ports cover a typical build exactly, which means the first board you add later has nowhere to go.
