DPL Classic — Data Port Logics

The Data Port Logics Classic is the 2025 evolution of the original R-Series DPL. It runs on a robust Maxim7219 LED driver and an onboard Arduino Nano.

The Nano sits directly on the back of the board — no extra external boards, no messy wiring, no fragile setups. Updating or uploading your own firmware is simple: just connect via USB. No FTDI adapter or special programmer required.

Compared to the DPL-VU, the DPL Classic deliberately leaves out the digital LED section in the left middle segment. That space stays free for your own modules or custom features, with no pre-installed LEDs in the way.

It also adds three dedicated 3-pin ports for easy expansion with D-CBI, LDPL and CSL. The classic CBI connects via the traditional 5-pin header.

D-CBI — Digital Charging Bay Indicator

The D-CBI is a fully digital version of the classic CBI, with three extra voltage-sensor LEDs on the PCB. You can break these off and relocate them via wires. To run it on a classic DPL, the code needs to be modified.

CBI+ — Charging Bay Indicators+

The CBI+ is an “analog” 3 mm LED PCB with the three extra voltage-sensor LEDs on board. These can also be broken off and placed elsewhere. The CBI+ works with any DPL version.
