D-DPL VU S3 Zero

The D-DPL VU S3 Zero is the wireless body lights board. It has the same board dimensions as the D-DPL AstroCan X and does the same job, but it carries no wired CAN connector.

It reaches the system through the AstroCan X Bridge. That is the board to pick when running a CAN cable to the body lights would be awkward, or when you would rather keep the wiring to a minimum.

It drives the familiar body light groups: data port logics and VU meter, charging bay indicators with voltage display, the digital variant of those, coin slot lights and large data port logics. It also reads two door switches, so the lights behind a panel can be switched with the panel itself.

Because the board also works over its own serial connections, it can serve as a drop-in controller in older builds or alongside systems that are not AstroCan at all – a sensible first step if you are converting a droid gradually.

Not just AstroCan X: this board also works with other systems, and a standalone firmware sketch is available.
