Vent Logics

Vent Logics lights the vents of the body. The board sits centrally behind them and drives them all from one place, in the same spirit as the coin slot lights do for the coin slot.

It is one of those details that is easy to overlook on a build and very hard to overlook once it is running: the vents stop being flat printed parts and start looking like something is going on behind them.

The board has no CAN connector of its own. There are two ways to bring it into the system: wirelessly, with its traffic carried over the air through the AstroCan X Bridge, or looped in through a DPL board – every DPL can pass it through, so if you already have one nearby, the vents can hang off it. Which route you take is a wiring decision, not a functional one.

Once in the system, the vents can take part in sequences alongside the other lights: they can react to a sound, come up during a show step, or simply idle with the rest of the body lighting.
